Triple Wrap Mala Style Bracelets
In the mountains of the Himalayas, Buddhist monks use wooden Mala beads as a tool to guide them in their meditation practice. Each bead represents a prayer of gratitude, a petition for strength or a simple reminder to slow down and dwell in the present moment. These triple wrap bracelets are inspired by these ancient Malas. Living in Santa Fe, New Mexico has had an effect on me, and the Land of Enchantment has opened my heart and mind to explore new forms of art that I had never imagined until this relocation. As a professional photographer I thought I had found my niche for life, but a yearning to create beauty more third-dimensionally has now become a part of my experience as an artist. I have begun to create mixed media art using encaustic wax, paint, collage and assemblage. And more recently I have begun to explore the metaphysical world of gemstones and the art of jewelry making. I began to create beaded bracelets that incorporate therapeutic elements such as essential oils, magnetic therapy, color therapy, and the metaphysical dimensions of stones that can be used in various forms of meditation and prayer. My jewelry is now in several galleries across the USA with opportunities for more on the horizon.
I have named this new artistic venture 505 ENCHANTMENT DESIGNS as a tribute to Santa Fe, one of the most "enchanting" places "I have ever lived, a city filled with artists and dreamers... and jewelry makers.
